Summary:
Born a furrier's daughter, Hagar originally hails from a timber-farming village in western Istria where her father — a well-respected man and leader of the community — worked as a hunter and trapper who regularly traveled to Maratha to barter with animal skins. Her taint allows her to see in the dark, much as an owl or a cat might, and it this edge that has allowed her to successfully follow in her father's footsteps.
But unlike her father, Hagar has no village to call home; nomadic in nature, she is always on the move, though she spends much of her downtime in the city, trolling for business and spinning stories.
